One-Line Bio

A poker playing entrepreneur with a rich variety of interests.

Biography

I started playing Hold'em in Dallas, Texas. It was the early 1970's. The host was a fella mentioned in one of T. J. Cloutier's books, Charlie Bissel. In fact, I played in Charlie's very first game.

There was lots of excitement about a new Hold'em tournament in Vegas, the WSOP. Lots of the guys went out to watch. Some to play.

Back then there was no Internet. No poker magazines. No books about Hold'em. Not a single written word.

When I compare today to then, I clearly see that I was living in a historic moment. Then, one of the few places in the world to play Hold'em was Dallas, Texas.

Today, Hold'em is worldwide! It is simply amazing.

I'm even writing about Hold'em. That's an amazement for me, too. It started awhile back in the PokerEDGE Community Forum. Take a look. You'll even find a Topic entitled "Dear rsteve". That's me!

Enough about me for now. Hope you enjoy your visit!

R. Steve McCollum
